THE STASH AR

THE STASH

FROM OUR WORLD TO YOURS

The Stash has released the first ever customizable AR music video (as of summer 2019). You can interact with their latest single, “Give it Time,” in a unique way to bring the band alive. You become the director of their latest single!

Using AR you can place the members in your space, record them performing their song, and share it with the world. Good luck and ACTION!

After concepting and pitching the idea to the agency, we fully executed the App ourselves. I was responsible for a wide range of tasks, including visual direction, UX/UI, 3D scanning, and working closely with Luc, the Creative Technologist, to push the technical boundaries.

UX/UI

The App was designed as a linear experience, including a user tutorial. The look and feel of the experience reflect the band’s “Blade Runner” style. We took a modern approach to the interface, keeping recognizable retro features, including camera view finder, recording time stamp, and even using haptic feedback for all buttons, providing a more analog and tactile experience.

AVAILABLE IN THE APP STORE

The App was programmed in Unity using Apple’s new AR Kit to its fullest extent.
(Contact me for a demo video.)

The app was fully finished and tested, but due to Covid-19 never launched.

PROMOTIONAL ASSETS

Our goal was to launch the App as a band launches a single, including wild posting, digital assets and a microsite.

Behind the scenes

Elephant, NYC, gave us, as interns, the incredible opportunity to create and execute our own idea, the result being The Stash AR. This meant working resourcefully under a limited budget to scan the band members, which included, for example, 3D printing a phone case for the 3D scanner.

What was my part?

After concepting and pitching the idea to the agency, we fully executed the App ourselves. I was responsible for a wide range of tasks, including visual direction, UX/UI, 3D scanning, and working closely with Luc (the Creative Technologist) to push the technical boundaries.
